[MT] MIT Scientists Decipher 3 Billion Year Old Genomic Fossils - Page 2

It's amazing how scientists can figure out what happened 3 billion years ago but cant even come up with a cure for cancer. Makes me question science sometimes.

The Cambrian Explosion just sounds AWESOME!
Who says scientists can't name things?

See, one thing is just sitting there waiting to be dug up and interpreted, and the other is a host of different ailments that are easy to kill, unless you want the host to live as well. On behalf of Science, I apologize for how complex cancer is.

I think someone peer reviewed religion once.

(That's not a bash at religion; Shepherd Book's response was equally valid.)

didnt we already have a clear understanding of this going from anaerobic to aerobic due to photosynthesizing bacteria using H20 for a hydrogen source instead of H2S, thus creating an abundant source of oxygen, killing the anaerobes but creating new niches and thus expanding life due to oxygen allowing for a much more efficient method of glucose synthesis?

The thing is that sure, these fossils might be around 3 billions years old but scientific theory's change all of the time....who knows if they're right about this so called explosion and change in atmospheric conditions. Science just seems to half ass things a lot and do more guessing when it comes to stuff that happened over a billion years ago or stuff way beyond our grasp like space.
