Stream movies via remote desktop between Win 7 and Win XP?

As the subject says, is this possible? All things I've read state that it's not possible through remote desktop (though you can use WMP 12 to stream between 2 computers, they must both be running Windows 7). Someone else on this forum says that he can open remote desktop from his old XP SP3 laptop, into his Win 7 machine, and watch a movie in WMP from his Win 7 desktop through remote desktop--except MS says that this is not possible.

In the past, it was only possible through Media Center Edition, and now through Windows 7, but not across OS platforms.

Can anyone confirm this? And if so, can you make a walk-through on how to properly set it up (since I can't get it to work)? I'm mostly sure that the guy was making it up, but I thought I'd check to make sure first, with high hopes that it is possible, just in case.

Thanks--though I'm more interested in proving that the previously-mentioned guy is BS'ing that he can watch a movie via remote desktop between Win 7 and Win XP.

Thanks. Yeah--Win 7 to win 7 is possible, and an added feature that MS was showing off for a while (since previously you had to use MCE). But not XP to 7 (or vista to XP).
