[ENG] MS: over 1.5 million Windows Phone 7 devices sold to carriers and retailers - Page 2

Everyone wants to test it first but there aren't any existing phones getting the OS. Only these new WP7 devices. So you have to buy one to really trial it. If I were AT&T and/or Microsoft I'd be considered letting people try them for a week at a time.

I was playing with one of these at a store, the interface is actually pretty slick imo, and the phone was very quick and responsive, I'm considering getting rid of my Sony Xperia X10 for one of these.

Haha. Have you actually used Wn Mo? It's terrible. Now Windows Phone 7, that's a nice OS. In fact I haven't been impressed by iOS or Android, but I'm considering WP7. It's light years ahead of Win Mo.

With iPhone/Android you actually have desktop realestate. With WM7, it's just this horrific series of ad banners all the way down the screen.

I don't have anything agains the OS or the phones, it's just the UI. I know they tried to be different than everything else out there, but the interface to WM6 was MUCH more intuitive (to me, at least).

If you pull out the microSD, though, itll erase everything on your phone. It was something they had to do to meet DoD guidelines (so I am told).

I have a friend who works at Microsoft. He showed me his WP7 (HD7) and it was actually really nice. I like it because it would integrate with my Zune pass, and allow me to retire my zune.
Next phone I'll buy will be Android. MS messed up with Win Mo and have done a terrible job with WP7. It may have an SD slot but the fact that it's not plug and play is pretty daft and I don't believe they had no other choice other than to lock that.

I'm running Sense 2.0 on my Omnia II. The phone's great but Win Mo is everything but smooth. In Korea a version's been released with Android and that phone's apparantly amazing. I can't wait till Android's ported to my phone.

I will definitely not buy another MS phone again. I do intend to use this Omnia II for another year, as I don't play games on it and only use it for Opera Mobile and MSN.

WP7 might be smooth and nice to use but then so is my wife's Desire (amazing phone) but not being able to listen to music, surf the net and have MSN running at the same time means they have haven't done a good job as the hardware they demand can definitely miltitask.

The ability to multi task is the only thing keeping me away. I have had phones with micro SD cards for years, and I have never needed to remove the card from the phone. My old BB storm is still sitting on the shelf with an 8GB card in it.

Why is everybody complaining about multitasking? It's coming in an update. I got to try our an HD7 and I was amazed at how smooth the UI is. Felt smoother than iOS actually. eek.gif. What will determine sales though, is long term support.

carriers didn't need to push android.
simply the existence of gmail pushed android.

all us geeks laugh and scowl at people that still use hotmail right?
So most would have ended up upgrading to a native gmail device.

Plus, aside from the shiney UI, I don't see microsoft offering me much with wimo7. Cause where the active geek development goes, is where the shiniest toys will come from. On a desktop computer, that's windows.
On a mobile device, that's android.

M$ did this to themselves by positioning wimo7 to compete against the iphone.

Because thats what we do on OCN, most of the time we spit out garbage responses because we don't read before we say anything or maybe cause I have one and I'm slightly following to whats next. MS has already covered Copy/Paste and Multitasking in the updates to Developers and the Update for the rest of the WP7's are coming in Q1 2011 if not end of 2010. But I was going to get the G2 for T-Mobile but the phone is just so much more Responsive and the tile thing are virtually Widgets with multi-colors I think we may just have some biased opinions because NO ONE but people on this forum have said "Dtrain your banner's are horrid my eyes are burning".
