You were ridiculous for getting the X6 in the first place. Wait 18 days till the official benchmarks come out and i have a feeling you'll be switching.

870 Vs X6...

X6 Gets Trounced...

2600K Vs 875K..

875 Gets Trounced...

See my point here? I had a 4Ghz X6 and it sucked. It couldn't properly push my 6870 Xfire configuration. I gained 3000 GPU points by switching to a 760. Get out now. Sell your X6 because when SB hits no one is going to even want one.

Great post Jean-Luc.

Would a 1090t bottleneck a 570?

And how much will the sandybridge chips cost?

When i compare my X6 at 4Ghz 3ghz nb Vantage runs to my 4Ghz 760 Vantage runs on my overclocked 6870 i gained 500 GPU points single and 3000 points in crossfire by dumping the X6. With my Overclocked 570 i would say yes it would. The X6 doesn't have enough Instructions Per clock when compared to Intel processors to properly push these high end cards.

Sandy Bridge Quad's will start at 179.99. At 179.99 you get a 3.1Ghz Quad core with turbo. If you want to overclock you need to step up to the 2500K which will be 219.99-229.99. They have been shown to hit 4.8Ghz on Air at 1.35v. Top of the line Sandy Bridge which will be a step or two faster then a Core I7 950 is the 2600K which will retail for 319.99-329.99. Sandy Brridge P67 boards will start at 79.99 and go up to 299.99-349.99.

ohh jean luc, why must you make things hard for me hahaha sandy bridge looks so promising

probably staying with 1090t though, pretty sure it's not going to bottleneck a single 570

I think i used the term "Bottleneck" incorrectly. It won't bottleneck a O/C'd 570 but it won't push it to the same level as a Sandy Bridge or Lynnfield quad would. If were talking SLI then yes i totally believe an X6 is a bottleneck.

Sleeper,

What do you pull vantage vise with your X6 and a 470?

If your talking US dollars then thats not too bad really. A chip like that should work well enough underneath my H50.

Was going to buy 1090t and 570 for future-proofing, but had no idea it would be a bottleneck.

I guess things seem to be getting quite mental in the CPU/GPU world at the moment, it's quite hard to know where to turn. All i really want is a system that'll keep me going for a couple of years, that'll perform in relation to the money i spent on it. Should probably just wait if my recently purchased am3 is gonna suck within 6-12months and maybe upgrade then.

And then theres Keplar coming up, now what kind of cpu could possibly handle that kind of increase?

i havent tried yet. let me give it a go. i bought it before for 6 bucks..but seem like it wont work after i reinstall my windows. heres a another x6 clocked to where i can be at with a the same card on ddr2 rams. mine might be different...but ill see if i can get a benchmark on vantage going. ballathefeared is his name! LOL. my curious on what you get on vantage point? can you show me. thanks.
