Maxing out games isn't terrible important. If it does, great, but playable rates with AA and such is what I'm after.

And I will be stepping up from my 1680x1050 screen to 1920x1080. I know - it took me long enough!

Meh. Bottom line, 450SLI would perform better than a 5850. :3

Catalyst 10.7 ?

GTS 450 is very weak for gaming. Even GTS 250 outperforms it.

Since 5850 is better than GTS 250 SLI, i'd buy 5850 instead.

Buy my Reference XFX HD 5850 with transferrable warranty.. I don't have the rep to post it but need it gone. Tried CL was getting lowballed all day long. Will do 1.25v/1000/1200/60% fan speed stable. $165 shipped. Can only accept Paypal and must have verified address.

Hope I didn't upset T.O.S.

Go for the SLI 450 option. You get:

450
SLI, Folding, PhysX, Cuda, 3D Vision, 3 Monitor support

5850
3 Monitor support (Eyefinity)

(If you want a 5850 you can also use your 450 for folding and physx)

I think you'd enjoy gts 450 sli, they practically scale 100% for me. If I can post benches, I would. Buying another gts 450 will add more value to your rig in the future because nvidia cards hold their resale value much better than radeons thanks to physx.

I really so no reason on why you shouldn't go for another gts 450
