OC Software causes Mouselag

Thread Starter
This is my first thread here, my friend told me you are all very helpful and kind, but Iam not sure where i should have placed this thread, Iam sorry if it's in the wrong place.

I got a odd problem.

Whenever i install a Overclocking software, be it nTune, RiviaTuner or some others that i've tried, i have encountered something strange. Even though i dont actually overclock, i just install the software, whenever i play games, my mouse has a huge delay.

Delay as in, i move the mouse, and it takes like 0,3 seconds before anything happens.

Strange thing is, this does not go away simply by uninstalling the software, no, the only way for me to get the annoying mouse lag away is to restore to a previous system point. or re-install my operating system.

I will post some information below, and thanks in advance for any help!

Nvidia GTX 275
Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz (Unclocked)
3GB RAM.
Asus P5K motherboard.

I know my CPU and Motherboard are ancient, no need to remind me!

Thanks alot!

My guess would be that somehow this enables Vsync. That's the only thing I know of, that causes input lag

Thanks for the quick reply!

I always try to turn Vsync off as often as possible in most games, i also go into my Nvidia control panel and turn it off globally for all my games..

What else can i do if this is indeed the case? And if it is, how come my problem seems to be so.. unique.

Right now i use a Razer Mamba, so it can be a wired or a wireless mouse.

However, now that you mention it, i have never used one of those old mouses and tried, you know, the NON-USB ones?

Do you think my overclocking software somehow slows down my USB intakes?

Go to nvidia control panel set maximum pre rendered frames to 0 to see if that fixes it.

No, OC shouldn't mess with that. Try what the upper post says

I always play with Maximum Pre-Rendered frames at either 2, 1 or 0, depending on the game.

I assume this problem is related to by old equipment, hell, my motherboard is over 3 years old i think.

Set mouse to 500 hertz if possible. Umm that's a tough problem I've never experienced it but with wireless mice. Try to test a wired usb mouse and a wired ps2 mouse this way we can find out if:
-it's the usb slot that's the problem
-if the mouse is the problem

also, enable legacy usb in BIOS

.Maybe update motherboard BIOS to the latest one.
