Toslink Passthrough With Component Out?

Thread Starter

I've been thinking about how to eliminate buzz from my new buttkicker and sub -

I originally was going to ground it or something but I think I've found a better option.

Right now all of my audio / video goes in through my television and then toslink out to receiver, subwoofer uses component subwoofer out and speaker wire for the speakers themselves. I plug my headphones into the front of the receiver when I want to use them instead of speakers.

Heres the problem: I need to be able to use my buttkicker (which uses component input) with both speakers AND headphones, having it split out of my sub line creates that nasty buzz from my sub and makes me unable to use it with headphone use.

So I had an idea..

Is there any way to have my toslink OUT from the television go through some sort of device, have it output to a component, and them come out of the device with another toslink and into my receiver?

The only issue I could see would be controlling the volume of the buttkicker (its largely effected by subwoofer boost from the receiver)

My receiver also has a toslink out, though I'm not sure I could use both headphones and toslink out at the same time.

Any ideas on how to rig this together?

Just doing googling it seems like this:

Might be my best bet.
