HIS does serial, I own a HIS 5870 and never had a problem except that they will usually go out of stock on products because it seems they dont produce as much as the others.

Sapphire is great too.
XFX, their life time warranty is almost a lie.
MSI is nice.
Gigabyte is great too.

HIS needs proof of purchase.

and so does Sapphire

http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/support/?cid=3&psn=000203&lid=1

and PowerColor

http://www.powercolor.com/us/support_warranty.asp

The warranty requires the original owner for an RMA request (can't transfer).
If you ever sell the card you would have to help in the RMA process.

everyhing is great but pls avoid xfx for now. it would suck if your card would get the same defects xfx 5*** series cards had.

Got myself an XFX HD 6970 last night. Hope to install it tonight. This will be replacing my now old Powercolor HD 4770.

Silly question here. What if I Xfire the 2 cards? What will happen? I never get a chance to read up on Xfire so maybe someone can comment on this. Just curious.

Sapphrie, MSI and HIS are all fantastic and XFX would be the last in the pick in my opinion really, but they are all ok. I would go for Sapphire first, heard no horror stories about their RMA service tongue.gif

Wont work. You can only crossfire with cards in the same series.

5770 and 5750/70
