I have to vote XFX in this...their warrenty is AMAZING.
I just RMA'd my 5770 without a hiccup, they had it back to me in less than 2 weeks after I shipped it!

to answer the crossfire question you can only put cards of the same series ex: [ (5870 and 5850) or (6970 and 6950) ] in crossfire

I bought Sapphire because they have a rep for good support and they have the best bundle. I didn't see anyone else with an HDMI cable included.

Hey, thanks for your responses on my silly question about xfire.

Installed my 6970 last night and yeah, it was a big jump from my 4770. One question though. I did the windows performance index and was surprised. When I have my 4770 installed, graphics rating was 7.2 but with the new card, it went down to 6.8. Do I have to tweak anything setting wise?

Thanks,

Dont sweat the windows test, it means nothing and isn't a good indicator of performance.

I know it's not what the OP asked, but i say you should strongly consider a GTX 570. They are 349$ at newegg and on amazon, they are cheaper than the HD 6970 and faster.

MSI, Zotac, PNY.

Combine the usual lowest price of the vendors with the extra goodies u recive make sapphire a VERY good deal. as well as good support.

XFX is same story. usually a bit more pricey.

HIS has soem extra goodie's as well.

MSI is amazing with Cooling.
I don't know whats better, but every overclocker needs good cooling.

If you are overclocking, that is, go for MSI.

Amazon.com: gtx 570

MSI, Zotac, PNY.
At high resolutions (2560x1600) it's actually alot faster than the 570, and it has a 2GB framebuffer.

Updated drivers + OC'ing the 6970 will cause it to take the lead of the 570 and might have the potential to be on par with the 580.

Also, at my local fry's and microcenter, the only kind of 6970 they have is a brand by the name of "DIAMOND," are they a reputable company? Should I wait until more brands come in or should I jump for the diamond 6970?

I bought the XFX one. I never had any problem with XFX 5770s...so I went with them. But the ASUS ones look good. I believe they all are reference models at this point.
