hi guys! im overclocking my 870 to 3.8ghz. my core voltage is 1.225 and imc is 1.2

I just run 20 IBT standard test and my highest temp reach 69c. my question is am i under volting my cpu? or can I still bring down the voltage? and also which speed should I ran my RAM? and what timings. Please and thank you guys.

my ram is Kingston hyper X
4GB Dual-Channel Kit (2 x 2GB)
DDR3-1333MHz
Low Latency: 7-7-7 CAS Latency
240-pin Unbuffered DIMM
1.65V Operation

well.... i would suggest you leave the overclock to where it is right now, and try and cut the voltage as much as possible without compromising system stability. Less voltage = less heat

As for the ram, try and run them at or below their rated speed and timings. If you decided to bump them to 1600mhz, loosen the timings to 8-8-8-24 if you dont want to worry about ram voltage. If you want to try to, tighten the timings as much as possible without increasing the memory voltage past 1.8-1.9v. That should increase the memory performance by a little.

Thanks for the response
you say cut the voltage, the core voltage or IMC ? or both?

so if I run below 1333(rated ram speed) my timing would be the default? which is 7-7-7-20? and also Do i have to follow the Timing tables and voltages under "SPD menu" on CPU-Z?

Core voltage

yes
no you do not have to follow the timing tables, those are for the Bios to read and set the ram timings during POST. If BIOS reads different values from cmos, it will use those instead of whats on the memory modules.
