I thought of that yesterday. That would of solved the problem, I was just too mad I guess and was focusing more on getting the verification email.

Yea it sucks for you but they have no obligation to offer you the sale price. Suck it up and quit blaming them.
I changed my email address 3 or more times with all different accouts, Gmail (which works btw), yahoo, and my ISP as well as others..I did all I could.

It was steam's fault and not mine. For some reason I got the email using another steam account, but the email didn't come for the one I actually use. Believe me, I did all I could and it was their fault.

Anyways, if I were you, I would just wait for another steam promotion of those games - happens all the time!
Big promotions like this are also happening every big holiday season... bet next will be easter, then 4 of july
Like I said earlier, I used several email accounts so it wasn't that.

I know that sales come around, but the main thing I am mad about right now is that they can't admit they are wrong and they just **** on their customers. They pretty much said, Sorry, we can't help, bye.

So it's not like I just tried once and gave up. I changed my email as well as do several other things to make sure it wasn't my fault. It was their servers or something and they should take responsibility.
Ahh!

Just to clarify, you changed your email before trying to purchase a game, or after the purchase?

I only changed my email after time had passed and I had not got the verification email. I figure it could be gmail somehow so I change it to yahoo and other emails. I changed my email to make sure it wasn't the email client.

I made another account just to see if I was dumb and missing the email. So I made another gmail account and I clicked verify and the email was there in 30 seconds. This is why it seemed that it was my steam account and it couldn't of been the gmail since both accounts had gmail accounts.

I didn't do any purchasing on the new account. I just made it to see if it was my account or what and sure enough it was that specific account and not the gmail client or anything. I still dont know how I got the verification email 15+ hours late. Something went wrong with steam's servers or something somewhere.

I bought GTAIV through steam and then had to dispute the charge because the game absolutely would not work with my O/S.

They sent a message to everyone who bought GTA IV who was using Windows 7 that there is a no refund policy for every game they sell except in this case.

So I got the money refunded, but they never deleted the game from my account, so technically I got a free game, its just I bought a used copy a few days later when I had assumed steam could delete games bought and then disputed on the charge card.

Not steam, but i've gotten price adjustments on newegg, they once gave me half the difference of my hard drive when it went on sale for 16 bucks off just a week after i bought it. so they gave me 8 bucks.

So I contacted steam and they said that they can not give me the sale price since they just can't do that in their system.

So, anything I can do here? It was their fault in the first place that I couldn't buy the games from and now they wont credit the sale when it was their mistake?
There is a saying for this kind of thing. I believe it goes something like, "Them's the breaks kid".

Don't worry too much, the games will go on sale again.

I don't understand why you guys had to do some verification process. I've purchased games from Steam a bunch of times and haven't had to do this. My e-mail is already verified, but even before I did that I could still use my VISA card to buy games.
