Don't worry too much, the games will go on sale again.

I don't understand why you guys had to do some verification process. I've purchased games from Steam a bunch of times and haven't had to do this. My e-mail is already verified, but even before I did that I could still use my VISA card to buy games.

Well, first it doesn't count if your email is verified already! tongue.gif

They didn't always have the email verification thing. It started in November of 2009. When you check out, if the account you are buying the game for isn't verified they make you verify it before you move on and even enter you card number.
Ahh!

It took Steam 3 days to change my e-mail address for me and I had to supply them with security details twice because their support ticket reps are too stupid to scroll up slightly and see the information.

3 days. It should have taken 20 minutes. Especially as I replied to their replies within minutes of recieving them. I considered myself a priority because someone was logging into my account (that wasn't me, obviously) and I couldn't change my password because the e-mail on file was invalid.

3 days. 20 minute job. Had Valve instituted a call centre, as they rightly should, it would ahve taken 10 minutes.

Lol, a call center?

Just so idiots can change their password and email address at the cost of higher priced games, no thanks.

Steam has a zero tolerance policy on these things. It doesn't matter if it's your fault or their, they will not give you the sale after it runs out. Especially not with the big sales, like this or the summer sale. I can tell you with a 100% certainty that you are wasting time and energy for yourself. Just like refunds, they just don't do it.

That's one of the problems with Steam compared to brick and mortar stores or e-stores that give you physical copies. In a normal store, you can go "Hey, I bought this item last week, and now it's on sale, can I get that discount as well" and there's a good chance they'll give it. But Steam does not do this.

I made another account just to see if I was dumb and missing the email. So I made another gmail account and I clicked verify and the email was there in 30 seconds. This is why it seemed that it was my steam account and it couldn't of been the gmail since both accounts had gmail accounts.

I didn't do any purchasing on the new account. I just made it to see if it was my account or what and sure enough it was that specific account and not the gmail client or anything. I still dont know how I got the verification email 15+ hours late. Something went wrong with steam's servers or something somewhere.
That still doesn't entitle you to the sale price. It's not like steam intentionally chose not to send it to you. It probably happened to a lot of people as there servers are under heavy load with all the sales. You're really not approaching this in a mature fashion at all. Since you've had your account for so long and it was never verified, maybe there was a process where someone actually had to check things first. It's tough luck on your behalf and you have no right to demand the price from steam.

If you tell me what games you were going to buy, I can probably think of a plausible reason why they're absolutely horrible and you should be glad that Steam saved you money.

I'm a game design student. Hating on games unduly because of bad design principles is in my nature.

I can't wait to see what perfect games you create then.
