Thread Starter
I did this thread I believe half a year back, but of course, the info back then doesn't apply anymore.

Requirements (IN CANADIAN DOLLARS):

1) Max price (with monitor): $1500, $1200 (without monitor), tax extra
2) Don't bother looking for a cheaper monitor, I have decided on a NEC IPS already, let's just say it's valued at $300
3) Has to be stupidly fast in Solidworks, AutoCAD, video conversion, some PS, and general stuff
4) I don't care what videocard it has, as long as it can play full HD without lagging, and TF2/CS:S
5) I already know what case I am going to get, no use trying to get me to skimp on that either - Antec Solo (@$90)
6) I want a lot of storage space and a SSD
7) Needs to be quiet (although I can remedy that with aftermarket sinks and my own stash of fans later on)

Here's what I'm thinking:

-Antec Solo
-2 x Western Digital WD20EARS Caviar Green 2TB (in RAID 1)
-Mushkin Enhanced Blackline Frostbyte 8GB 2X4GB PC3-12800 (may get another set down the road for a total of 16GB)
-Corsair Professional HX650W PSU
-Sony Optiarc 24X DVDRW DVD Writer SATA
-NEC Multisync EA231WMI-BK
-Scythe Mugen 2 OR Thermalright HR-02
-Windows 7

Where you come in:

1) Deciding whether or not I should stick with i5/i7's or upgrade and wait for Sandy Bridge
2) If waiting for Sandy Bridge, which processor?
3) Determining how big of a SSD to go for, I was thinking 80GB may be too small for my programs (the TF2 folders take up around 7GB, same with CS:S, and let's not go into AutoCAD or SolidWorks...) and want to step up to the 120GB range?

Again, what I'm thinking (for Sandy Bridge)

-Carry everything over from the above list
-Intel i5-2500 (or 2600 if I can swing it)
-Gigabyte P67 UD5 (or UD7, same condition as previous)
-120GB Sandforce SSD (Corsair Force? OCZ Vertex?)

You can see what I have to work with in my sig. I don't upgrade often.
