SSD CRASH-Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller

I changed the Intel ICH10 Family 2 port serial ATA storage controller to Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller and now windows will not start. it crashes on the windows splash screen to a BSOD for a split second and the startup repair cant fix it. Is there a way to change the drivers or do I have to reinstall windows?

I installed win7 on my ssd everything was fine I was following the instructions here to tweak win7 for ssd's and I am confused to the steps below. I installed the intel chipset drivers for my P5Q PRO and when I look at the device manager under ATA controllers it said:

Intel ICH10 Family 2 port serial ATA storage controller 2 3A26
Intel ICH10 Family 2 port serial ATA storage controller 1 3A20

When I read the article and quotes from it below I may have misread it and I cant get the intel drivers from this page to install like he says. does the (Intel ICH10 Family 2 port serial ATA storage controller 2 3A26) support trim? should I have left it alone? why does windows violently crash after I changed it to the standard 1.0 driver

I cant get these to install like he suggests using?

Next, we need to make sure our ATA/ATAPI ACHI controller is set to use trim.
The new INTEL chipset drivers 9.6.0.1014 support TRIM! Use these instead of the MS AHCI ones for Intel Chipsets.

If your controller chipset does not support trim then use the MS driver.

To see/change it, go to device manager and select IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. If it says "Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller", you are good to go. If not, double click it and select the driver tab. Click update driver. Select browse. Select let me pick. select Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller.
/END QUOTE INSTRUCTIONS/

It was going so smooth I just knew installing onto a SSD was not gonna go smooth for me. The way I read it was I went to the device manager under ATA controllers and it didnt say Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller so i followed his instructions to change it and now I definitely cant get windows back up.

Dear goodness I fixed it. I had to change my storage config in BIOS to AHCI instead of IDE. I am now back on windows 7.

So now I am back to trying to get the drivers he put at this link to work as I assume they are better than the standard ahci drivers or should I just leaflet the standard ones in?

I really thought I was in trouble there I was literally 1 minute away from reinstalling and doing the vicious cycle all over again I am glad i figured it out~!
