Quality Modular PSU's

Thread Starter
I was going to replace my crappy cheap OCz StealthXStream with a Seasonic x650 from Amazon, today Amazon just ran out of stock I was going to order right when I got back from my vacation but now it's out of stock and it only let's me buy from other merchants.

I was looking for other PSU's from Amazon because it has no tax in CA and I have prime, also will they ever come back in stock because it doesn't say anything about it coming back. I was thinking maybe a Corsair, I want at least 80+ Silver and must be modular and under 150 thanks for the help.

May I ask why you want at least 80+ Silver?

With as awesome as the X-650 is, I imagine that it will be restocked. However, it may not say that it's going to be just so that they don't have to deal with an overload of backorders. I don't know...

But does it have to be the X-650? Can you go with something that's still good, but doesn't cost quite as much? I mean, the X-650 is extremely high quality and can be overkill for many people (including me!).

I want at least 80+ silver so I want 80+ Silver and Gold suggestions, also I'm planning to Crossfire these 6870's and I know it will still be a lot I just want to future proof for a while.

Also yeah I'll be willing to take something other than the Seasonic I just liked them a lot and they were quiet which is the main reason I want to change my StealthXStream, they are extremely loud (Oh the irony) I want something quiet and efficient a lot to ask for but I'm not cheaping out on this.

And for Amazon the Seasonic x750's have been out of stock for a while and they haven't been in stock yet, most of the time when an item goes out of stock on Amazon it still let's you order but it comes when it's available for these it doesn't let you order from Amazon so I have a feeling it's not coming back.

But why must it be 80+Silver or better? Are you under the impression that this is a way to judge a PSU's quality? I mean, it's actually not.

And again: why does it have to be the SeaSonic X-Series?

For $80 you pretty much can't shake a stick at this
Amazon also has grey or green (modified SeaSonic OEM) units for $88

It doesn't have to be the X-series I edited my post I left some stuff out but I'd like it to be 80+ silver or better because I don't know too much about PSU's lol for me this is the quality rating, I've heard good things that the Seasonic X-series are amazing but I'm more than open to other suggestions.

XFX 750w and 850w Black Edition are Seasonic X series PSU's and are great bang for the buck. Fry's had them for $80 and $90 respectively with no rebates one day.

There are many quality modular PSUs that are quiet, and there are many that cost less than the X-650 (they don't have the near-overkill in quality).

However, I love that you don't want to cheap out on this, and I love that the first PSU you looked at here is the X-Series. That's just a very good sign to me.

How modular does the PSU have to be? I mean, have you checked out the partially-modular Antec TruePower New series?

I've also looked at the XFX and I must say they look quite sleek even though it totally doesn't match the colors of my build. But I don't care about what it looks like, I'll look into your suggestions thanks.
