New games rig almost built, what could I play till I get a HD6950

My new un-assembled rig is below, accept for a M4A89gtd usb3, arriving in a month, and then a HD 6950, that I will get in under 2 months.

What are some fairly new FPS games that I could play (only for a month) using the pII x3 740BE 3.0GHz with my HD5670 1GB

I want to max out the settings, or very close to max, at 1920x1080

(I also can get another 4GB of RAM when I get the MB, I'll just have to eat less till I get the 6950)

On my current P4 3.2GHz, I'm only now finishing Far Cry 1, also finishing off Scarface The world is yours, The Godfather 1, and The Hell in Vietnam

If you're looking to max, any of the Source-based games will do just fine; too many options to list.

Why bother? Unless you're using some other memory-intensive applications other than gaming, it really is unnecessary. Keep your tummy full

Well when I get the 6950, I'll start GTA IV, Crysis warhead, Assassins Creed, Fallout 3...
, wouldn't 8 GB be better?

I wouldn't see you saturating 4GB with the texture load, unless you forced some crazy high AA. The only time I've ever seen over 4GB of system memory use on top of my 1.5GB VRAM, was using Crysis maxed out with the Mechwarrior mod. Crysis standalone maxed out wouldn't kill you.

If you were playing at an even higher resolution, maybe; but you should be fine with 4GB. You can always upgrade down the road when you have spare cash to throw into your rig.

I.m not sure what CS is, but is crossfire anything like Battlefield II, I used to love playing the free 1.0 version online, until I got this newer P4, and the sound seems to cause it to crash all the time.

CS as in counterstrike... it's just a free FPS, a lot more simple than battlefield2
