Well I was going to go quad on the new 6970s but there not powerful enough for the money spent IMO, So Now im just tring to work out which 580s I want, its a toss up between EVGA Hydro Copper 2 and the normal Asus with a full cover block. I just love the look of the hydros! It really depends wether they have improved on there VRM temps much.

Of all PSU calculators you're using Newegg's? PSU calculators are all crap but Newegg's has a special place in the hierarchy of crap.

oh yea, i know what your talking about, but newegg is the only one that allowed me to do 4 cards, even if he took 20-25% off the top as that is what they add to get people to buy bigger psu's, he still wouldn't allow for stable working.

A good 1200W unit like the TPQ-1200 really is fine for four 480s. They're not that power hungry.

A second PSU for testing purposes would help see if it's a PSU problem or a motherboard problem.

What's so wrong with dual PSU's? Unless you have space issues, it's a perfectly viable solution.
