stress test issues

Thread Starter
I ran prime 95 for the first time 2 days ago and it failed after 5 hours. My first instinct was that it was the memory so I reran the test for 12 hours on the low ram mode and it had no errors. At this point I was sure it was the Ram so I ran memtest86+ for 8 hours. It made 5 passes with 0 errors. I then ran the intel burn test on max ram mode and it failed after 90 minutes. It said to check my cpu temps but they never went over 42C. Quite frankly I am very baffled since all of my settings are stock as in no OC. Can someone please give me some direction here?

mushkin's site says thats 1.5v ram, if you have all your voltages to auto, it's likely that the ram v is lower. try setting the ram voltage manually to 1.5 and manually setting your timings to 9-9-9-24 2T and see if you still get errors.

It's set to 1.51 but it won't let me make it 1.50. I can go to 1.49 though. Do you think it's RAM related. I also noted in ET6 that it has the CPU multiplier on 18 for the first 3 cores, 16 for the second 2 and 1 for the last one. Also the last one is at 1 and I can't move it. Is that normal. Another strange thing is that I am now running the Intel burn test for 3.5 hrs with no errors. Also is this amount of errors something serious? What does it mean? I mean it's so hard to find these errors. Could it be a waste of my time?
Could they be flukes? Or do they actually point to a real system issue especially since I am not OCing?

im not sure of the effectiveness of intel burn test on an amd chip- that could be the deal with the cpu temp not being right... i use prime95 and amd overdrive's system stability test.

the different multipliers are a result of turbo core. it raises the multi of 3 of the cores when you need more speed. conversely, cool and quiet lowers the speed down to 800 mhz when no cpu power is needed. i dont think there is any system issue. if you aren't overclocking, there's no need to run prime anyway. and as long as you don't get any errors or bsod's during normal use, there is no reason to worry about it

edit: also, if you passed memtest all your ram is good...

Well I know the cpu temp is fine and the Intel Burn test works fine on AMDs as far as I have heard. I think the error is a generic error that tells you to check your cpu temp. My cpu temps don't move much ever since I installed my Noctua NH-D14. So you say that if it passed the memtest86+ on 5 passes, then the memory is good? Then does it mean that the problem is related to the processor or it's configuration?

i'm not sure i know what your basing your "problem" on:

1. you failed prime95

2. you passed prime95 low ram mode

3. you passed memtest 8 hour test

4. you failed intel burn test, but temps never went over 42

unless you get an error or bsod in daily usage, i wouldnt worry about it, honestly.
