Overheating :( - Page 16

post #151 of 170
I don't know if this has been suggested, but why dont you just run memtest? If it's memory related you should get errors, if not move on to different parts of your system. I still would not rule out it being a driver issue or graphics related. Another idea might be to disable cores on your CPU if you truly think its a CPU issue (although I've never tried this, but it seems like it could be a good idea in ruling out a cpu issue).

Always been like that.

It should really only take about 30ish seconds to boot, something's really not right there, either.

Sounds like a possible hard drive issue, as previously stated. Perhaps some HDTune is in your future as well.

I tried my old had an it still took that long. My old rig used to boot in less than 20 seconds with my old hdd.

You're going to have to go into the BIOS and make sure everything is set up the way it should be, that the boot order is correct, and that it's using PEG and not PCI for graphics.

It's in pci slot tho?
post #158 of 170
It's in a PCI Express.

PEG=PCI Express Graphics.

O... How do I put it into peg via bios? I have the new install up with nothing installed. Running good so far.
post #160 of 170
It's in the BIOS options somewhere, I'm not familiar with that board or its BIOS options. You'd be better off asking on the Sabertooth thread, they'll know.
