I am in the UK

Ur..guys..I'm here again asking the same question

Should I wait for the new AMD architecture taking into account that I only have around £150 to spend on a new rig?

I DO NOT have any intention to upgrade GPU.
Just CPU,RAM, Mobo

Upgrading from SKT939

Or should I just buy something like this now?

AMD Athlon X3 445
Some cheapo AMD 770 MB
Some cheapo DDR3 RAM

Christmas is looming and I can't really say 'gimme money' to my family so yeah...I'm going to have to decide soon.

RAPID FIRE RESPONES PLEASE

upgrade that 3870 to a new 6 series gpu...then when you get your bulldozer/mobo/ddr3 you can pop that 6 series card in and have a beast of a machine!

I wouldn't upgrade your platform just yet, not with Sandy Bridge and eventually Bulldozer around the corner.

Just ask for a new video card, say a 6950, and you are set for another year or two.

I would wait for the high end sandy bridge and bull dozer processors to come out in q3 2011. Socket 2011 /w quad channel for sandy bridge. Don't know much about bulldozer but it's 8 core and the future is fusion.
