Guess I should mention that my headphones are Logitech G35, they're USB.

OK, so I got my PS3 yesterday. Also, yesterday, I realized that my sound card has S/PDIF in/out. But the PS3 has TOSLINK. They're both digital/optical standards, are they compatible with a simple adapter?

EDIT: Also, I know my sound card came with a optical cable, but it's been a while since I've seen the box, lol

I think it's safe to say yes.

Signals transmitted over consumer-grade TOSLINK connections are identical in content to those transmitted over coaxial S/PDIF connectors
