Got Facebook? Yeah!
Got a mobile? Yeah!
Got CoD? Yeah!

Every kid nowadays has them... hell, even I do.
Have facebook, almost never use it.
Have a mobile phone, but no data plan (it's only a phone for me)
Haven't paid for a CoD game since MW1.

This article is just a way to attract investors and raise confidence in the company name. I hate it when he talks.

Apple gear has some benefits, the iPhone isn't that bad, the iPad is the best tablet, if only there was a smaller version, the iPod is a great audio player and the Macs, while over-priced, give you better build quality than any other OEM company, CoD on the other hand simply ported Halo to a modern setting, got popular due to a demand for FPS games and it being the only usable one on the market at the time, since then it's purely people going off brand name, if it had been BFBC2 or MoH launched at that time then they'd be the popular ones.

If Treyarch had such a "big" input into COD's MP why is it W@W and BO still fail as much as COD4. IMO COD games are rubbish, the gun models suck and not to mention all the stagnation each release. Sounds like it's more propaganda to try get people behind Treyarch as the main COD developer since pretty much all the main core IW people who created the original COD are now gone.

Fail troll is fail.

Fixed all of that for you.
Well, I changed it to be the same as what I believe it is.

Got facebook? Yeah.
Got a mobile? Yeah, awesome smartphone is awesome.
Got CoD? I had COD4 for a week before I traded it in for Viva Piñata and Forza 2. Which I had more fun with. And yes, I did play MP.

Now, on to the article:
Quote:
"More people play 'Black Ops' every day than watch Jay Leno, David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon, combined," Kotick boasted. "The audience of 'Call of Duty' is probably greater in terms of size ... than in any other interactive form of entertainment."
Well, it helps that those 3 shows aren't really worldwide whereas CoD is...And I'm pretty sure Starcraft is bigger, I'm also pretty sure WoW is bigger. (12 million subscribers or something?)

Quote:
Yet it's the "Call of Duty" games that attract blockbuster openings and fervent support. By some estimates, "Black Ops" had the biggest five-day opening in revenue of any entertainment debut in history.
Pokemon, Halo, Wii, Star Wars, I can name many more, but just because it's huge and has huge openings and massive support...Doesn't mean it will stay that way.

Quote:
The "Call of Duty" games generally feature compelling, cinematic storylines.
The nuke part in CoD4 was compelling...I haven't seen a single compelling part since, unless you're meaning compelling to a 12 year old, you know? Just like the hooker thing with GTA.

Quote:
Instead of getting together to watch a movie, some people huddle around the living-room game console, or strap on a headset and chat online with friends across town or across the country over some gunfire.
"If you look at the 500 million people who are on Facebook and the way that people text each other and instant message and use video chat, there is now an evolution of media," Kotick said. "Those are the characteristics and attributes that a generation and audiences feel are very important to their media and entertainment experiences. And we expect that."
"Call of Duty" delivers on that trend, he said. These games can be as integral to the social lives of young people, especially males, as any other form of digital communication.
Erm, no, lazy parents buy their bored kids an Xbox and CoD because they heard its good from somewhere, CoD is not a new form of communication like texting or Facebook, hell, it's not even a form of communication, Xbox Live/PSN is.

Quote:
Kotick rattled off various factors he says make the "Call of Duty" franchise stand out from competitors -- "production value, the level of polish," that "no detail gets left unaltered," he said. Perhaps most important is "the sophistication and capability of the multiplayer matchup," Kotick said.
I've seen better production values and polish in relatively unknown games, I really doubt they don't leave any details unaltered...There's less evolution in CoD than in a rednecks household and the MP is nearly purely done through Xbox live, I think?

Quote:
Activision fired two executives from Infinity Ward for "wrongdoing" -- "so wrong that you were left with no choice" but to dismiss them, Kotick said. Their positions have since been filled after the company was flooded with about 5,000 résumés, Kotick said.
"Multiplayer has been largely developed by Treyarch," even in games like "Modern Warfare," which were credited to Infinity Ward, Kotick said. "I don't think Treyarch got their due for how much they contributed in the production and polish to the multiplayer."
Future "Call of Duty" games may borrow some things from Activision Blizzard's other massive franchise, "World of Warcraft," Kotick said. For example, developers should constantly mold their games based on audience feedback, he said.
"Blizzard really created the model for how to do this successfully and effectively, making sure the community of 'World of Warcraft' players has incredible influence on the future of the product," Kotick said. "There's so much more that we can deliver to our players."
Okay, so Treyarch made MW1 now? That's deffo BS, they fired the two IW people because they got a bit mouthy about how much Kotick wanted changed in MW2, and I'm sure he'd love it to be like WoW, imagine how much money they'd get, pay a sub for CoD and they release a new expansion pack every year as well as DLC in between, this is why I hate him, this is why PC gamers get screwed over again and again, this is why the gaming industry has been practically reduced to brown FPS', people like him who only look at the profits for them.

maybe I'd be addicted to COD: Black Ops if the game didn't completely suck on PS3...but it does, even with the new patch.

Arguably... HP, Sony, and Dell are ally easily on par with Apple's build quality.
