Well, some of you stat guys want hardcore proof, and being a stat doosh myself I can understand why.
When I had my 720 X3 with a 5770 running WoW at max, I was getting 30-40FPS in 25man ICC boss fights, during the heat of battle (FRAPS)
With just a switch to my Agility 2, it increased to 50-60FPS, but overall the fights are much
smoother. Maybe my numbers aren't correct but I can tell you the experience is MUCH SMOOTHER.
Same fights. Same hardware. Same settings. Same server.
Everyone else's cast's I could actually see, the spell effects during battle didn't skip, everything is just much smoother overall.
I don't know how else to explain it.
Once again, changing no hardware or setting besides a HD.
When the game is loading high res textures and processing the mip-mapping when flying, I notice that parts of the world load much faster.
When I fly through Dragonblight I would always drop to 25-30FPS in certain parts, never happened with my Agility 2, always stayed above 45 or more.
I have been playing WoW since release on and off and I am just saying with only a switch from my 7200RPM to this SSD, overall the game experience has been much smoother in all areas, not just direct FPS or load in times.
I am not trying to go against anyone or give bad advice, just telling ya what i see and what my overall experience has been like.
It literally feels the game has doubled in speed at times, and once again, not just load in times etc.Edited by amstech - 12/22/10 at 3:24pm
