Same Temps... :/

Thread Starter
Hello.

Well I'm recently bought my right (You can check it out down there) and I started to overclock.

But I have one problem... I overclock from 2.8GHZ (Stock) to 3.8 and the temps reach 55°C-59°C on load. Around 35°C°-39°C on Idle, And 45°C on average tasks. I rich 59°C specialy when I run Battlefield Bad company 2.... I have never reach 60°C.

I asked earlier if 55°C-59°C was okey. Someone told me it was okey, But near the limit. I didn't want to reach near the limit, So I overclock to 3.2GHZ instead of 3.8GHZ

I did the same task and the temps are vary very, very little... 1°C or 2°C

Is this normal? Sorry for the stupid question. But I'm new to overclocking... Hehe

Thank you.

It seems kind of odd that temps would go up that little. How much did you change your voltage? That's what normally has to do with the amount of heat it puts out. And 60C is completely fine temperature-wise if you ask me. Many people who OC get them much higher than that. If it starts going around 70 or 80 then you may need to worry about cooling.

Thank you for your response Epona.

Its wierd.. 'Cuz I overclocked again up to 3.8GHZ, And the Idle temps is even lower... its on 34°C ATM.

I use 1.425 CPU Voltage.

If 60°C is good on full load-&-nonpassing-60°C, I'll just stick to 3.8GHZ and try to go higher.

Eh, I would say that 70-80 is ok for an Intel CPU, but an AMD? 62 is the limit.

As for the OP, I see that you have a Hyper 212 cooling your cpu, which is fine if you want to OC a little, but it is not meant to keep a CPU super cool with a 1GHz overclock. If you want better temps, then look into better cooling, simple as that. Don't forget that your case, cable management, and ambient temperatures play a big role in your CPU temp.

Hate to play semantics but thats not true for ALL AMD cpu's, and that being said even though modern phenoms have rated max's of 62 running into high 60's probably won't cause any issues aside from perhaps reducing the life of it from 10 or so years to 8-9 years.

lolwat????

60C is not good, 70, or 80? Oh no you didn't!

Your thermal max is 62C (unless you have the 95w version then its 71C), that's max. Most OC's get unstable after 55C. That limited is based off the cpu temps, not the core temps.

Can we get a SS of hwmonitor for your max load temps please? Also what voltage are you at?

Can you post CPUID Hardware Monitor and CPUZ screen shots for us?
