Share System RAM With GTX 460

Thread Starter
I know HyperMemory is a technology from ATI that does exactly this.

Is there anything from Nvidia or a 3rd party software that does this? My GTX 460 has 768mb of RAM and I have tons of system RAM to donate.

I dont care about what games Ill be playing or at what resolutions, or whether I need it or not. I just want to know if it can be done and how.

Ok, missed the Wikipedia part saying Nvidias solution is called TurboCache. It seems this feature is exclusive to low end cards. Is there a workaround?

No, there are no options for this.

Also, as the GPUs can't access the system memory directly, I don't see this working at all.

The solutions are for embedded GPUs.

It will happen automatically if needed.

It will also happen slowly, because the connection between your system ram and your GPU is MUUUUUUCH slower than the one between your GPU and it's onboard vram.

As such, it's really not something that you want to have happening is the truth. But your card will use your system RAM if you 'run out' of onboard RAM.
