QPI and CPU voltage question with memory OC to 1800

Thread Starter
I am tweaking a 22x multiplier 3.96 GHz overclock profile w/HT on. This profile has the memory overclocked to 1800, which is why I am liking it. It is really close to being fully stable. Right now the CPU voltage is is @ 1.2800v and the QPI I have been inching up a little more because of the RAM speed. Right now the QPI is set @ 1.3125, but I am thinking I need to set it higher, but before I move forward..

The questions I have are:

1) Is there a maximum recommended spread between the CPU and QPI voltages? I usually like to keep these 2 voltages as close as I can.

2) Could the OC settings be OK, but because the RAM is running @ 1800 my memory is just getting too hot and that could be what is causing seemingly random crashes during stability testing. Sometimes it will be fine on Prime95 overnight and 20 LinX passes, and other times it will crash for no apparent reason. I do not have memory cooling fans, so could these crashes be temp related instead?

3) Should I avoid benching this profile completely until I get cooling fans for the memory?

The stability seems to be there, and this could have nice advantages as a 24/7 profile because virtually everything can stay enabled and it could end up being a great folding profile. With the increased memory speed this profile does not feel any slower than my current 4.20 GHz profile (memory @ 1600), so I am seriously considering switching to this OC profile as my new 24/7. This has been BY FAR the most stable 22x I have ever been able to get, which is, in part, why this has a certain appeal to me.

It does Prime 95 pretty well, I can run small FFT 24 hrs with no issues. Once I change settings in Prime95 or LinX and start hitting the memory hard it will sometimes randomly stop, most of the time neither Prime95 or LinX have a BSOD notifier when I restart. I never goes pure blue screen, if that makes any sense, it will sometimes run 50 linX passes with no issue, other times after a few passes it will shut down. But then again, it passes testing a lot too, so that is what has me kind of stumped.

As I indicated earlier, this profile is very close as far as stability goes. It passes IBT, Prime95 and LinX far more often than not. Whenever I can actually get an error code it will be a 124, which usually means up the QPI voltage a little. Because of that, I started wondering if there were any issues once QPI and Vcore started getting to be farther and farther apart.

The memory is definitely warmer @ 1800, but these Dominators are DDR3 1600 and are supposed to be able to support up to a 2000 MHz OC. in theory anyway.
