yeah the low profile dongle kinda sold me on the g700

i have a glass desk and can see through so any wires kinda annoy me

the weird thing is i have a deathadder now and love it...im a palm gripper and it fits perfect

but in terms of wireless, i dont even really consider the mamba or even rat 9 to be "wireless" since they both use desktop receivers that need a wire to run to them to work

the g700 uses the mini dongle and thats it

I just switched from the Mamba to the G700 and I am so glad I did. Other than having to get used to a different mouse, I have no complaints about the g700 at all.

i cant imagine trying to game on a wireless mouse... they are all soo slow.

For desktop work i guess thats a different story.

well got the mouse and plugged it in and already i have issues with it

regardless of what is set in the setpoint drivers, none of the gkeys are doing what they are supposed to do (dpi increase button opens up a web browser and dpi decrease cascades all my open windows)

called logitech support and got a woman who didnt have a clue what was going on and didnt sound like she knew anything about the mouse at all so i kinda gave up and hung up...

looks like the mouse is going back to amazon tonight...

apparently it had something to do with the profiles that were on there...i deleted them all (except for general, which you cant) and now the g buttons are doing what they are supposed to, but the profile leds show me apparently im in a profile that isnt even installed on the mouse lol

not sure im totally happy with this, seems really really buggy..might return it

its a shame, its a really comfortable mouse, but the drivers seem really flaky

not sure if i should just return it for a mamba or just keep my deathadder...

It takes a while to get used to Setpoint. It's not that intuitive. Often instead of selecting the programs you intend to use certain functions/keystrokes you have to select the button in Setpoint first, then select the program and then it lets you change it. For instance if I just set the side button on my G5 to "close" it wont close things in certain windows or certain applications. You have to select the button, then edit the specific "close" command for each program.

It does take some getting used to, but after 5 years, I've gotten the hang of it.
