I guess this is a minimal upgrade. All the stuff I keep reading on the 570 got me thinking my 470 was lacking. I think I will just stick with it. I won't cancel the step up just yet though

The upgrade is not necesary, unless you recently purchased your 470, from my experiences, I got 2 evga 470 ssc a week ago, and oh man! They were horrible overcockers( havent even been able to reach 800mhz stable even with 1.087 v), so I returned those and got 570 and oh man was I glad I got to 900mhz with just 1.063v(cant wait to sli it). I would suggest to anyone who have a nice overclocked 470 not to get the upgrade, but those of you that are unfortunte like me go get the upgrade. I have a strong feeling that when cards first get released they tend to be better than the same card made perhaps 6 months after the release date.

Very nicely done. I was wondering what the advantage of a 570 would be in a "real world" scenario for enthusiasts (with each card highly overclocked). Looks like the advantage diminishes from 26% to 16%, which is a significant drop.

I couldn't justify 570s, anyway. I want something with more vRAM so that I can enable supersampling in more titles. But the 580 is too expensive and the ATI cards use ATI drivers, so I guess I'll wait till next time.

With the OP's reviews its still 20-25% faster.
It's nice to see the 470 owners stick up for their stuff but 25% is still getting your butt kicked.

No GPU has needed more price drops to sell then the GF-100's.

Is there an ignore feature for people like this, or can they simply be banned?

The guy is comparing higher clocks vs stock clocks and trying to pass it off as logical, coherent or informative.

My gtx 460 at 1Ghz is nearly on par with your gtx 470 at 600 herp derp!!!!


Since the gtx 580 uses more power than the gtx 480 I have to assume it's the same for the gtx 470 and 570.

You slap a better cooler on a reference design and all the Fermi haters are talking about the second coming.
