GTX470 vs GTX570 Comparison (Review) - Page 10

I went from a Gigabyte 470 to a GB 570 OC and am pretty happy with the results. I should make clear that performance was not the main reason I upgraded, but rather that the 470 was a reference card that was loud and hot while the 570 I moved to was a GB windforce 3 fan unit that is dead silent and ultra cool. I even stopped using 3rd party fan control (MSI-AB) because the fans rarely go above 40%.

Performance on a whole was very similar to the 470 except in crippling games like metro2033 and crysis. I was finally able to max out those 2 games with the 570 at 1920x1200 (although with little to no AA).

Bottom line for me, is that I will never go with a reference card again - only non-ref cooling that is silent and effective. I doubt I would have upgraded to the 570 if my 470 had the same non-ref cooling set-up.
