I'm in a very similar boat as the OP and have been looking at a number of 120mm fans. I have 2 Nexus fans in my P180 that I'm happy with and was going to get a few more for my new build (see sig). However, the Yates keep drawing my eye, especially for the price. So I'm wondering, are Nexus fans out of favor now?

Thanks guys

I compared a lot of these fans - see item 1. in my sig. Overall, I think the GT AP-14 is the best balance of output and noise. When I have my D14 in my case (it's on the bench now for more fan testing) I use two AP-14's on it. In my case I use an AP-12 in the front, and AP-13 on the bottom and an AP-13 in the middle (mid-case fan). I also use a couple of Kaze Maru 140mm fans: 500rpm for side intake and a 120rpm top intake. Mind you, this rig sits a half meter from my ear and I like it quiet. But you can see what fans I like.
