GT5 Rage!

Is it just me, or is the B-Spec the worst crap ever? I put tons of money into a car to make sure it has at least 2x the horsepower the best "typical opponent" has. No matter how often I give the command "Pace Up" or "Over Take" the stupid driver always brakes and follows behind who ever is in front. There is nothing I can freaking do to ever win a race. When I do the race with the same vehicle, I can almost lap everyone. All I'd need is one extra lap, and I could lap everyone at the very least once. That is usually with what... 3 laps or so. B-Spec has double the laps, same car, and simple commands like "Pace Up" - How the hell can you possibly win B-Spec with such crap AI?
Anyone, feel free to fill me in on anything I'm missing here, because I'm raging pretty intensely over this crap.

I'm assuming you're just starting out in B-Spec. Best thing to do is give your driver a 4WD car, usually the car won't spin out. After they gain a lvl or 2 get them in the FF, FR, and MR cars. They will learn and they will lose some. But if you quit the race they won't gain the experience of driving that car.

Patience is gonna be needed with B-Spec. But with that patience come some great rewards. (Pagani Zonda R costs 2M and you get it through one of the B- Spec Races) As I said before you will lose some races but don't worry the more they race and higher they level up the much better they get. My drivers especially my first driver is much better than I am, kinda sad really.

Yes, that is strange. I gave my driver a decent car, and told him to go slow, and he won no issue. I haven't spent much time on it, but it's been pretty simple to win so far. If you make them too aggressive, they'll crash. Pretend it's real racing, nobody just bolts out and wins like you can in A-spec.

Slow and steady.

Best advice by far is the 4WD thing, I put my guy in my upgraded WRX for as many races as I could right at the beginning, great to level up a bit with.

You can always grind your guy to atleast 2-3 levels above the requirements of certain races. That's what I did to mine and after lvl 20+ your driver pretty much isn't a moron anymore..

When I first started out, I put him in an upgrade Lamborghini as much as I could, he'd always win. It got to the point where I needed certain cars to race, so I got the required cars and upgraded them, now he just constantly loses. Just recently, due to the new update I was able to find and purchase a truck. I got a Dodge Ram 1500 and up'd it about 800 hp. I was able to completely dominate in Daytona with it in A-Spec without a problem. My best opponent has about 450. I put it in B-Spec, constant "Over Take" and "Pace Up" and he barely finishes 3rd. Every curve he'd slam his breaks. There is no reason to use your breaks in Daytona, especially if your vehicle doesn't even reach 160 mph.

It all depends on how the car is setup for your driver. Whatever tires the Race Requires THEY NEED TO BE PUT ON. No if ands or buts. I started realizing this later because my driver wouldn't go anywhere, and then I got the tires and he was lapping drivers as if he was on a Sunday drive.

I go to GTPlanet daily to look for Car settings not only for myself but for my driver. These settings help them immensely. Recently I've been doing the Formula Gran Turismo Races and thankfully I found some settings on GTPlanet and my driver is beating everyone by minutes not seconds. Gotta treat your drivers like Kings and give them everything.

And the truck issue, have you upgraded the transmission and the Flywheel, Carbon drive shaft and the adjustable LSD?

No, I haven't.
The way I see it is, if I can beat them so bad that I lap them, then the AI drivers shouldn't have a problem just taking the lead and holding it. It is absolutely ridiculous.

Yea buy those items and adjust the transmission settings. Again Make ABSOLUTELY sure you have the correct tires.
Yea indeed. B-spec is really retarded. I gave my driver a veyron and he did 2 laps fine and crashed on the last.
