Get a GTX580 an all your headaches will go away. Not a troll post i'm actually serious.

Robbo,

Thanks. I'm at my wit's end here. If it will support eyefinity ( or 3d vision, whatever nvidia's is) I will consider it.

It it's eyefinity you want then I would suggest getting a 6970 or 2 of them if that's your flavor. 5970 are no doubt amazing cards but after all this time AMD still can't get the drivers right.

This would be my recommendation as well since, I too, have had a lot of issues with various games not working right with one set of drivers but being fine on a different set, only to break a different game entirely. It pissed me off enough to just get a GTX 570 and I've been happy ever since.

Here's my experiences in this thread:

Right now, Nvidia cards will only support Surround with two or more GPU's. Since you've already sunk $1000 in GPU's already, an exchange to a couple of GTX 580's will roughly even out in price anyway.

For whatever reason, AMD drivers just aren't there yet for 5970's. It's true that there may be a lot of people that have no problems with the cards, but for people like you and I, it's hit or miss, which in this case is a big miss. Your only other option would be to wait until AMD releases the proper drivers that are rumored to be be released "soon", which promise to offer the superior Crossfire scaling performance that the 6800 and 6900 series of cards have. I don't know about you, but I got sick of waiting around for drivers to fix a product that has been on the market for well over a year.

amd drivers are horrible. i recommend doing one of the following:

1. Selling 1 of your 5970s for at least 450.
2. Go trifire 5970 + 5870.
3. (Most recommended) Sell both 5970s and get 2 gtx 580s.

Allens,

Will my PS be able to support those two cards? I also have 5 2TB hard drives in raid 5. I'm not sure if I have enough juice!

Also, I understand the GTX580 requires SLI for Surround. Rough on my Power supply!

I've got 6 mechanical hard drives of varying speeds and sizes, (which would actually consume a bit more power than your hard drive setup) and two GTX 570's on my HX750 with a little bit of room to spare. You will have power left over even running three GTX 580's on your power supply.

Hard drives consume less power then you think, 1200W is enough for SLi 580GTX, even with overclocked everythings. You need at least two cards from nV to do a eyefinity like setup.

Using more than 1 GPU in WoW cuts FPS drastically from what I've heard.
