Ranting Folding prizes - Page 2

Had people know in advance that this months foldathon was going to be based on individual improvement then I could see how one could manipulate the outcome. This wasn't the case so I highly doubt there was any unfair play.

I, like may others, have folded in every foldathon possible and I think this is the first time I have won something. The prizes offered in foldathon's are there to entice the non-folders into our happy group with the hope that they will try it, like it, become addicted to it and continue folding for OCN. Remember that most prizes are given away randomly and that this was the first time that some prizes were awarded based on performance.

Yes its nice to win a prize but just seeing everyone come together and contribute in the way we do is gratification enough for me.

I'd rather see a huge folding farm clean up the evga stuff then post a vid of him lighting the stuff on fire and closing the video (free stuff is for b!tches my *****s pure **** now)

thats what I want for christmas... keep the gtx580 I want to see something get toasted.

I understand why you have the issue, however, keep in mind the point of the fold-a-thon is to set a time where everyone can fold at once. Many people cannot afford to fold 24/7, so the fold-a-thon brings them in for a few days.

It is not meant for us who fold 24/7, because for us everyday is a "fold-a-thon", so we need to let others enjoy their little prizes. Maybe the way to improve the prizes, is to gear them toward the member who isn't a 24/7 folder, and yet is consistently in the fold-a-thons.

Also, remember that there are prizes for 24/7 folders, so we get our chance, we just need to let all the kiddies have their fun with their fold-a-thons.

***? No, folding is not about the prizes at all. You fold because you want to, not because there is something in it for you (although there could be if u have/will have cancer). The prizes are just a bonus. There are plenty more people out there more deserving than you that have never won a prize, so don't complain that this is not fair. If you really wanted a prize you should have tried to improve on yourself. Sure, I'm not gonna lie, I wanted a prize, but I couldn't afford to spend any more to get more PPD. I wasn't expecting to win, but even if I did, it wouldn't matter b/c I'm not doing this for myself.

Lesson of life, don't expect anything good, and you won't be disappointed when it doesn't happen. You will however be pleasantly surprised when it does happen however.

The guy that won earned it, don't go calling bs about it. Also, your theory doesn't work, b/c your folding name is linked to your OCN account, so it wouldn't work to have more than one account, and if you did, you would only get credit for one of them. If you look on the stats sheet, you can see that OCN has a list of everyone's OCN name and folding name.

I have never won anything from any of the folding contests of CC. I have donated to them before. I just keep the mindset that I wont win so the day it does happen will be pretty awesome.

I just fold for the cause. If it were for prizes I would have given up years ago, lol.
