That's pretty cool! Very interesting! I hope they also find evidence of an ancient giant race of humans!

What I found interesting is that when they "reconstructed" a Neanderthal using the most advanced methods possible, they really wouldn't stick out that much. Stockier, thicker legs, barrel chested, perhaps bearded - but nothing that wouldn't be out of place on a street in a regular city.

I think people carry on with old ways of thinking. Like the photo of "cavemen". For all we really know, "cavemen" didn't live in caves. They could have entirely lived in tents (or yurts) that were portable, suited for nomadic life - and the only reason that we associate them with caves is that they occasionally lived there, where their remains were preserved. We could say the same for the First Nations, that may have stayed in caves at times, but for the most part, lived in some kind of portable structure, or in structures made out of natural substances that would decay quickly, leaving no remains.

I do not think we can rule out such matters, and "cavemen" may have been far more advanced and complex than we generally give them credit for. It is just that they didn't leave records of their existence. We simply do not know, all we know is a small fragment of what we happen to find. The matter of "species" is also always up for debate, with lots of changes made to those assumptions every time some new proof comes up. We simply do not know if these peoples were some distinct branch of humanity, or simply some tribal element that had some kind of slight difference that we interpret as "different", rather than just being a variation. But I am also inclined to think there were number of sub-species variants that came and went, and interbred, until "Modern Man" became predominant, for whatever unknown reason.

I can rarely bother myself to dip into this primordial discussion pool on OCN but here is link with big name most people have heard of(wee?):

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8660940.stm

Read some books:

Britain BC as quoted on the forum and 'On the probability of Neanderthal ancestry,' for an in depth study of the genetics themselves.

As I have said, the nature of the mating is speculation but we don't draw lines in our imagination unless we're religious and are scared of proving it wrong. Don't make me trawl the internet for news articles and books again I don't appreciate it. There is no all encompasing 'link' for the theory of everything and the universe on the web, even if it was that simple I would still usually ask you to search yourself

Plus the church has already dropped all the crap about the false hood of aliens in the bible. most of what is in the bible can be found in the bahamarrata and the epic of gilgamesh also. basically saying that one or if not all of the books were plagerized. I personally beleive in the ancient astronaut theory.

Agreed! Well said! The proof is in the stones and witnesses in books and old scrolls. Why else they see a bright light from the skies?

Space is big and i still highly believe we could be either from the stars.. or created on earth by "aliens" as a jumpstart to mankind or at least we all know and love.. the man in sky. I can't say it here cuz it's against the TOS. So far i have been told. So no religion talk.
