Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme Plus VR004 Official for GTX 580 - Page 6

Best 3 slot cooler around I'm not sure why people hype the MSi lightnings and Asus Direct Cus so much. And the Shaman is just a silly 5 slot cooler. I might get another and SLI someday I think hodgoes2001 biggrin.gif. We could be AXP SLI buddies then... not many of us around.

Agree. First I had the "Asus DirectCuII GTX580" because I saw around people saying how quiet it was.
Its not a quiet GPU cooler lol. Even at 30% fanspeed, its audible. And was the loudset component in my pc.

Then I got the "MSI GTX580 Twin Frozr II" in the hopes it would be more quiet. The fan noise was different, but anything above 45% fanspeed, and it became alot audible. And temp.s were like 96c degrees on constant 45%.

Instead of returning the MSI GTX580, I bought an "Xtreme Plus" for it. And I couldnt be more happier. 40% constant fanspeed (around 1100RPM) and temperatures never go above 56c degrees. And I cant even hear it running.

It will run down to 800rpm (15-20%) Wendigo if you ever go for an even quieter setup. In my tests in the past week under artificial load @ 22 degrees ambient i never broke 65c @ 20% fan speed. And my case has fans all running @ 500rpm.

I could only set it down to minimum 30%. But thats enough about that. I'm happy with my AXP and have not regretted it.

Yep. I have no need for better temps than I am getting. And personally I think the AXPs looks better than water cooling. I'm not a fan of having colored tubes throughout my system.

I am glad they released the 580/570 ASUS DirectCU coolers because they are making 3 slotters more mainstream. I've seen much more interest lately. And with the new cases having 8-10 PCI slots there is more room for AXP SLI

Hi, I know it's been awhile since last post, but help me, plz. I have read lots of forums about AXP and haven't found the answer whether it is compatible with Palit GTX 580 3GB. Will I have troubles installing it?

And what about Arctic Xtreme III and Arctic Hybrid? May be these are compatible...

Thanks.
