GTX570 vs HD6970

Thread Starter
Want to get one of these cards not sure which. Performance seems similar. Wondering which should mature more as drivers come out. Or which would you buy.

Cheers

According to here : http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.ph...=605&Itemid=72

the GTX 570 win in most games VS the HD6970. And when the 6970 is superior, it's only by 1-2fps. When the GTX 570 is superior, it's by 10-15 fps.

I say GTX 570 FTW ! The 6970 is a fail IMO, and i'm not a fanboy, i've owned ATI and Nvidia cards.

Wow that gainward is sexy!

Anyway, my vote is for 570. As mentioned, it performs very close or better in a majority of benchmarks at normal resolutions.

The 6970 has more growing room with the drivers. Also supports higher resolutions far better. Also supports 6 monitors vs nvidia's 2.

Unless you're going to only game at 1920x1080 or lower and never update drivers, get the 6970.

Never get driver updates? Fermi is updated constantly. Amd couldn't make a driver to save it's life.

Why would the 6970 have more growing room with the drivers than the GTX 570 ? Both cards are new and are on their first driver..... both can improve, equally, which will keep the GTX 570 superior because it's already a superior card.
