looking for a raid controller

Thread Starter
Im sure these get posted often but Im looking for a good Raid controller between 50-100$ I might be willing to go a little above that. I was looking at this card and wondered what some of you experts think of it.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816132018

I have two 300gb 10,000rpm raptors in raid 0 plus an 120gb gskill SSD

unfortunenately i must set my sata ports to raid in bios and that limits the speed of my ssd especially with all drives connected.

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

first tip - you will get better speeds for that setup by using your onboard controller than you will see from any $100 controller. You also won't get any speed penalty at all from your SSD running in RAID mode, but you will lose TRIM if you don't use your onboard controller.

do u want to move the SSD on to a controller or the HDDs?

I'd move the HDDs - RAID-0 is simple enough for any controller & as the_beast mentioned, ur mobo controller is good for the SSD
