My watercooling overhaul/addition

Thread Starter
i have been DYING to replace my monstrosity of a PC case (LianLi FULL tower/server) and FINALLY got a little extra $$ for xmas. I would love to redo the mobo n cpu and all that, but it would just cost too much and everything (knock on wood) seems to be doing just fine as is. so, i decided i to do a little tune-up on my aging system. the "overhaul" is going consisted of the following.

New
reinstallation of seperate GPU cooling loop
x1 cooler master CM 690 case
x2 Noctua 120mm fans
x1 Black Ice Radiator 120mm single fan - Red Box
x1 Bitspower 5.25" Bay Reservior - Acrylic
x1 Koolance 6850 Waterblock
x1 XFX 6850

Old
x1 Black Ice Radiator 120mm dual fan
x1 swiftech mini reservior
x1 swiftech MPC350 pump GPU - orange
x1 swiftech MPC355 pump CPU - green
x1 thermaltake adjustable speed 120mm fan
all parts listed in my signature

amazing case, all i can say. however, i think it is odd that the 2 holes on the back of the case for water cooling hoses are not farther apart. then you can mount a rad. back there and have the hoses coming straight in the case.

there were also these plastic cross braces on the top and front covers, so i cut those out to not obstruct the airflow coming in or going out

after

CPU loop drip testing. it looks ghetto, but u can spot a drip across the room w/ white paper towels.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

end product - i plan on making a little panel to cover all the wires in there as well.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

so that is it really. GPU temp is 38C Idle and highest recorded temp overclocked, full load has been 51C. CPU stays stable at about 43C under load, but I have a 8400 so the I dont trust that thermal sensor for crap.

and ty burks; it was a real pain going from a full tower that i could pratically fit MYSELF into to a case half the size. This cooler master was one of the best cases i have ever worked on though, so I highly recommend it to anyone.

i started off my w/c "adventure" with an almost internal Antec 900 build. then i moved to the 800D and suddenly everything got easier with enough room to work lol

Hi,

Not really,

Only 360 worth of rads and going for 5.0+ stable and cool
Run 4.4 stable and cool 24/7 with current setup.

Adding another 240 or 360 (External) for new vid cards and may
change loop around for 480 CPU and 240 for vid card or cards.

Not going Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge and be able to run anything
out there for quite awhile with current rig.

Video only thing going to upgrade as to staying current for a long
time.

Nice job,i managed to fit cpu/gpu/mobo cooling in a NZXT Gamma, that was a tight fit but even then i had to have a rad sandwich on roof of case.

Do yourself a massive favour and dump the dye immediately as it will just clog up you radiators and blocks, suprised nobody mentioned this yet.
