Which Is Better?

Thread Starter
Well I Have a Asus Crosshair iV Formula with a 1090T,G.Skill 2000Mhz at 9-9-9-24. well it runs stable at 2000mhz just fine at 1.65v. but also runs stable at 1600mhz at 6-7-5-15 at 1.65v. So my questions is which one would be a better match? i will overclock my cpu to 4.0ghz once my cooler comes in so my multiplier is at 13 and bus is at 250 3250Mhz which allows me to get 2000Mhz for Ram.

Thanks

Run MaxxMem to prove which one is better; most likely the 1600Mhz 6-7-5 result will equal or outperform it, and 1600Mhz is usually easier to stabilize/overclock with anyway.

What is your NB overclock???

Because in order to fully exploit 2000MHz RAM, you need a NB @ 3.3GHz.

For RAM @ 1600, you need your NB @ 2.6GHz.

And just a hunch based on my own testing, I bet 1600 @ 6-7-6-19 would be a hair better than 1600 @ 6-7-5-15. Could be wrong though.

Yes, you will need a higher NB to fully exploit both; with a 2.75Ghz NB and 1600 6-8-6 timings I get over 10GB/s in MaxxMem.

see if you can get it to run at 1800 at cas 7. its should be faster then your cas 6 at 1600. try to overclock your cpu-nb as high as you can go.
