The choice is clear. Unless you have ovaries you should get the gun.

"Your gun is digging into my hip."

I remember when my gramps said he wish he had bought a few 30-30's when they were $75 back in the day. So many guns and so little cash.

SKS are meh.

If I was going to buy an AK47 tomorrow this is what I would buy.

This baby smacks of quality. Not some cheap WASR or Polish knock off.

Another one to think about would be the heavy Bulgarian models.

Eh. It was my first rifle purchase. Still fun to shoot and you can mod the heck out of them. Of course I like feel of the wood stock in my hands and the weight.

Finally bought me an AR. Been collecting dust though. I'm not in a house that "accepts" guns so its hiding. LOL Still need to buy some flip sights and an optic since it didnt come with any.

I recommend downloading CDNN's brochure. TONS of guns. You can order accessories online but you have to deal with gun purchases over the phone. Only hear good things about them and I know he sells world wide. The place is on lock down twenty-fo 7.

Oh they are fine, they just aren't one of my favorites to shoot. That said they are still fun to fire.

The SKS with proper training of its use is highly effective. A well prepared and trained man with an SKS and a pouch full of stripper clips is not under prepared at all.

having said that, the AK is the much more versatile weapon and if you are gonna toss the money for a rifle, why not. The WASR's are pretty 'bottom of the barrel' but it's hard to find one that doesn't work well, and if it doesn't, a few cheap parts will fix that.

Russian AK's are definitely preferred if you are ready to pay almost twice as much for one. It may run a little nicer and feel tougher than the copies but they operate as long as you got a reasonably made one. A buddy of mine has a very tough yugoslavian AK and it's definitely battle tough.

Agreed. But there is a reason why no military on Earth still uses SKS as a general issue weapon. But the majority do use the AK47. I have never fire a Yugo, but I can recommend the heavy Bulgarian models and the Russian one I linked is simply the best from a quality standpoint, and it already has your G2 trigger ready to go. Lifetime warranty. No brainer, I would rather spend a little more and get an excellent product, than spend half and get a WASR. I guess if you only shoot garbage ammo and never want to clean it, get a WASR then. It will probably fire for most of your lifetime lol.

Wish I knew what is it like to wield a gun, but being unemployed stinks. People think I would be crazy if I choose the gun and then the police would swarm all over me thinking I'm a robber or a terrorist.
