Overclocking NB?

hey folks. should I bother trying to up the NB frequency? Is the performance noticeable? If i do up the frequency too high will I know if I'm damaging my mobo?

any advice will be appreciated. feel free to drop some knowledge im a noob.

yes...try to get it to 2600ghz for the 955. it should take about 1.35votls to 1.4volts. it will add a little heat to your cpu temp. watch your temps tho. 3.9ghz cpu-nb 2.6ghz is faster then a 4.0ghz with cpu-nb of 2.0ghz....always.

ok. I bumped up the NB to 2600. Ive been running prime95 for 15 min now and im idling at 51c (@4ghz)

thats a pretty nice overclock if you can get it stable. 4.0ghz at 2.6ghz. make sure the temps dont go over 55c. if it does...lower it to 3.9ghz and see if you can get it up to 3.9ghz with cpu -nb of 2.8ghz. remember to start small....voltage wise. work your way up slowly.

in everest,click on file,preferences,then in the left column u will see hardware monitoring.click on sensor icons and make sure there is a check in the nb and sb boxes.
