Best 24" LED Monitor For Gaming?

Thread Starter
I just sold my AW2310 since I really don't use the 120hz 3d and its sooo expensive, I am curious what you guys think the best 23-24" LED LCD would be for gaming? I play A LOT of Starcraft 2, and some Counter Strike.

All suggestions and opinions are appreciated, thanks guys!

I like my samsungs I have to say, i have 2x 24" 240hds they were pretty cheap too. Ive seen asus doing some good cheap screens recently and also dell do a really nice 23" which is a good price too. Personally i would look for something like this- http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MO-124-SA

brightness isn't related to whites tbh. It's actually related to blacks and black depth. Also overly bright monitors isn't a good thing at all. Static Contrast is actually related to whites. Also tbh, a super high refresh rate monitor isn't going to help a top-down RPG like SC2 much. budget?

Well SC2 gets really low at FPS, a good keyboard and mouse would help before a monitor. All you would need for SC2 is a monitor like this, it really is <3

PS Yes I do play SC2 a lot

I'm hoping to spend $250, but if I have to spend $280-300 I will. I just want something really good for Starcraft 2, I game a lot so a nice monitor is important.

Samsung monitors are one of the best monitors available but after seeing that most of the led displays that they have only have a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio it was a bit of a let down that samsung was falling behind other competitors, the best led monitor I have seen around atm is the ASUS VE248H led monitor going at about $250 AUD which offers 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio etc check it out...

http://www.asus.com.au/product.aspx?...cLyFdl6th16GV6

Remember when shopping for an led display that a backlit led does offer superb picture quality, better then the Edge Lit also look for a Thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD display) which is a variant of liquid crystal display (LCD) which uses thin-film transistor (TFT) technology to improve image quality.

More information about this technology can be explained here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TFT_LCD

I hope this has helped.

i use this and it's insanely awesome (compared to my 22" lcd). not to mention the colors look crisper and games look more interesting. but it can be a little bright for internet use so i tone down the brightness when not gaming. it has preset profiles you can switch from easily.

Why does it have to be LED? LED is just the backlighting. CCFL backlights are fine, they just use a little more power and take a few seconds after turning on to reach full brightness. Both of those don't really matter that much since the power consumption difference is very small, and most people don't turn their monitors on and off very much.

Please tell me what you wrote is suppose to be a joke? If you know anything about displays, you know that dynamic contrast ratio numbers given by manufacturer marketing departments are about the most worthless numbers imaginable.
