will this system be stable?

Thread Starter
ive been told many different opinions, and psu calculators say i need around 1200 psu to run this. so heres the specs of the pc im building, i want to know if it will be stable

mother board: asus crosshair ivformula amd 890fx
cpu: phenomii x6 1100t
ram: 2gig ddr3 x 4
gpu: radeon hd 6970 2g x 2
hdd:30gig ssd + 1tb hdd
liquid cooling: asetek 570lx
psu: 1,000 Watts - CoolerMaster Silent Pro Gold 80 Plus Power Supply

i might throw an fan control panel on the tower as well.

will my psu be enough for this set up?
the most i would overclock is the cpu to 4ghz, stock is 3.3ghz

Yes, you will be fine, I think that even a 850w psu could handle that system.
And psu calculators are mostly useless.

You'll be fine with even an 850W as Kasp1js said. What DDR3 RAM are you planning to get exactly?
That PSU will be fine, and will be perfectly fine if you put in a 3rd 6970 to round it off.
Most of those PSU calculators assume you'll get a cheap PSU with a model number that just happens to be a number with a W on the end and a 300w actual output...

If you haven't already bought that power supply I would go with a different one. If you think you might get a third then go with a quality 850 watt power supply. If you plan on sticking with just two then you could get away with a quality 750 watt.

Looking good I guess. I'm assuming you're getting the $40 AR ones; there is a Corsair XMS3 kit for the same price, but you pay less before rebate (only $50).

Looks good...you might want to just get the 1090t if you're going to overclock though. I don't think there's much of a difference between the 1100t and 1090t other than base clock speed.
