What are today's top quality PSU's? - Page 4

Overall Zalman PSUs aren't bad, but they're usually more expensive than competing products. That's a problem with Zalman products in general.

Well, is there a way to see how those Power Supply rates in those areas?
Look up reviews from reliable web sites who know what they're talking about, such as jonnyguru.com or hardwaresecrets.com. You should only pay attention to reviews from sites that have equipment to test PSUs properly. TONS of hardware sites produce PSU "reviews" where they unbox it, take pictures, put it in a computer and turn the power on. That's not how to do it
You should read http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/522 for a good overview of what a good review should contain.

"I'm not really sure where the name "high current" comes from. The OCP (over current protection) on the +12V rails of this model is supposedly set to 30A where the OCP on a True Power Quattro +12V rail is set to 38A, and the total +12V capability is 99A while the True Power Quattro's +12V rail is capable of 100A, so if any Antec power supply should be called "High Current", it's the True Power Quattro. But they did need to call this power supply something different since it's a completely different beast from the True Power Quattro., so I guess High Current Pro is going to have to do."

Why don't you put together your computer, and once you've got a list of components in mind, come back here for PSU advice?
theirs nothing wrong with PC Power and Cooling, they used to be the corsair of psu's they just don't get reconized as much these days.

Actually there is something wrong with PC P&C -- since they were bought by OCZ they've released nothing but mediocre units with an inflated price tag because of OCZ trying to capitalize on the PC P&C brand name. PC P&C is but a shadow of its former self.

NZXT's Hale90 (made by Superflower) are pretty great supplies and are expensive but not incredibly expensive. They are gold rated and did very well on JG.

I rate Seasonic highly, and they make PSUs for Corsair, or at least they used to.

I friggin love Enermax but they are terribly priced. Great units. I'd say they definitely compete with Seasonic unit, but Seasonic units tend to be cheaper.
