A noob, JUST built a new rig, urgent question! GA-UD3R

Hello, after months of research and patience, I finally managed to get done building my rig today. Was really proud of myself, considering I started with 0 knowledge about anything computer related, to knowing a lot of stuff now. Built pc from scratch, and had it turn on first try no problem, also installed the OS and ran ran into no technical difficulties. I must say, the feeling of accomplishment of something small like building a PC hard to explain... Now that I got that out the way..

I happened to run into two problems. My mobo read everything fine. dvdr drive, vga, all 12 gigs of ram, etc etc, no problem. My first problem is, when I click my computer, it only finds 1 HDD. If you check out my sig, I have 2 hdd's installed. a 1 TB samsung for storage and 1 WD velociraptor. I installed windows 7 on my velociraptor, and when i was about to install some files on the samsung, windows can't find it. Do i need to go into bios and change something? The velociraptor was in the channel 1 slave slot i think, and the spinpoint was in the channel 0 slave, i think... anyone know how to make the computer recognize the samsung?

second question - This one maybe a bit more difficult to solve... My mobo is a gigabyte ud3r. When i enter bios, and i try to enter the MB Intellegent Tweaker (MIT) the computer freezes. It wont let me move the arrow keys. I have to manually press the reset/power button and restart the system. When i try to enter the MIT, it shows the cpu temperature, fan RPM and other things, and the numbers are changing, so its obviously working, but it simply freezes when I enter the MIT. It wont let me move arrow keys, and the esc, f1~f12 buttons wont work either. Please help!

1. Go into disk management (just type disk management into the search bar and it'll open). Your F3 should show up in there and you'll either have to assign it a drive letter or format it to get Windows to recognize it.

2. Try a BIOS update. I'm not really sure what else to tell you.

if what he said above doesn't work for number 1 try going into bios and see if it recognizes the hard drive there. if it doesn't you should try a different sata port.
for number 2 it definitely sounds like you need a bios update, gigabyte comes with a nice utility so you can update your bios through windows. it's called @bios. it should be included with your cd which also has a utility called easy tune 6. which is basically the mit only in windows, that might be a better choice for a new overclocker

If you have any other questions let me know, I also have the gigabyte ud3r and I have 2 hard drives working so maybe we can figure something out

thanks guys, you guys are the best. im a member of 9 other online forums (including insidehoops, misc, genmay to name the major ones) and this is by far the most friendly community and also the most helpful. thanks guys.

edit - i purchased an open box, the samsung, and when i went into disk management, for some reason it said only 200 mb was available. clicked around here and there, and i found a tab where i can expand the memory, now all 930 something gigs is available for use/storage. small things like these, i feel more confident around a pc. thanks again guys.

Also, if the @bios doesn't work (it didn't work for me), all you need to do is put the new BIOS file on a small flash drive and plug that in and update it from within the BIOS. It's pretty easy.

i had a similar issue with windows 7 not recognizing my sata drive. I was able to get it to work by using easus partition master.

are you going to MIT status?
the first option in the MIT menu? can you select advanced frequency settings? You should have updated through BIOS, that way you can clear DMI pool data, something is wrong with your BIOS, when i goto MIT status menu it freezes for a few seconds, not more than 5 at most. What BIOS did you update too? What revision board do you have?

is usb keyboard/mouse support turned on in bios?
Maybe your Bios is not configured properly. Do a CMOS reset and then load Optimum Defaults in this way
CLEAR CMOS
Shut down--unplug-- hold start button in for 10 sec--short the CMOS pins in lower right corner of mobo for 1 minute using a flat screwdriver--plug back in-start--

Load Optimum Defaults--Set PCIe to 100--Set ram timings-- setDRAM voltage--go to Integrated Peripherals-enable all USB settings(they are at the bottom of the page)--go to Advanced BIOS Features, init display-select PEG
Also the boot order will need attention

This will get your BIOS in it's best configuration. If it is a BIOS problem it should now be gone

The above is for 775 platform but should help you along
