They both look worse than the PC version so HA.

I played modern warefare 1 on Xbox360 for the first time yesterday after playing it on PC a while ago and oh man, the graphics are so much worse.

Yes and no.

Xbox 360 pros:
* Has more System RAM than the PS3. (512mb vs 256mb)
* Has a faster GPU than the PS3.
* Has special RAM set aside for the GPU to use for things like postprocessing effects, making some effects almost "free", because they won't impact framerate.
* Has three full-power CPU cores with access to system RAM (PS3 has only one).
* Because all CPU cores have full access to system RAM, developing games for the 360 is generally much easier, meaning games cost less to make, and can be developed in less time.

PS3 pros:
* Has six SPE cores that can be used to handle many tasks. However, these cores do not have access to system RAM, so isn't quite as easy to give them work to do (Programmers: Including it being much more difficult to use virtual functions because you have to pass the v-table to them).
* Has a hard-drive, standard. All games can guarantee they will have a HDD to use.
* Has a blu-ray drive. This means games can use more assets. However, if the game is not PS3 exclusive then it isn't likely that the extra space will be used because the game will probably be similar on all platforms, including asset sizes. Additionally, while the blu-ray drive means you could have larger and more details textures and meshes than you could fit on a DVD, the PS3 has less memory and a slower GPU than the 360, so that is rarely the case because it would kill performance. It does allow for many more assets that can be used to make a longer game, or a game that would take multiple discs doesn't have to take multiple when using blu-ray.
