Monitor backlight problems

Thread Starter
So when I turn on my monitor and my computer has been on it comes to the log in screen and I log in (the screen is a lighter white color) then my desktop comes up (black wallpaper) and the backlight starts flickering it will even turn off for a few seconds and after doing that for about 30 seconds it works fine till next time out stays off for a while. I also have a second monitor on the same video card and it has none of these problems, I also switched the cables still the same thing, so I looked online and it says the inverter or bulb is the problem but it costs 90$ to fix or more, so I'll just buy a new screen, so I wanted to make sure that was the problem first

Cheers
