Hi OCN,

Happy christmas to all firstly!!!

I am in the middle of a build for a "friend", and have hit a dilemma: Which gfx cards should I be looking at for this build:

E6320 (4mb cache, OCed)
AC-Freezer 7
Gigabyte G41-ES2L
2gb DDR2 800mhz memory
500gig hard disk
550w Seasonic

The rig will be used for Flight Simulator X, and some GTA San Andreas/Vice City, maybe some racing type games. All done around 1024x768-1200x720 depending on performance.
Also word processing, internet, and possible amateur music making.

The budget is around 40-50 UK pounds.

So far I have found: ATI HD5450 1gb (new), GT220 1gb (new), Nvidia 8800 GTS 320mb (used)... etc...

What would you recommend?

Highly unlikely. I woul have to double the budget to get a 450gts. Uk pricing is not as good as what people on the other side of the pond get.

Anymore suggestions?

Isn't the ATI 4670 better than the 5450? I'm not in a position to research this atm
Also - isn't the 9800GT better than the 8800GTS in terms of a used card?
You should be able to get a used 4850 for about £40 I'd have thought....

The 8800GTS 320mb (which is the original G80 version) is probably the one with the most graphics power out of all of those. Out of the 2 newer cards, the GT220 is the more powerful of the two, with the 5450 coming in a way behind.

So: Best 8800GTS
Second GT220 (roughly 8600 power)
Last: 5450 (roughly 8500 power)

If you could push to 60 quid, then you could get a GT430, but that's as good as you'll get.
