On this forum, you could get roughly $400 tower only $450-$500 with the monitor. You could get about $600 on CL, it sucks that the cost of things depreciate over time like that.

My PC for instance, is more than enough for me, collectively, ive put well over $1000 into it, yet its only worth about $700 if I were to get lucky on CL.

If you dont need the money, I would save your rig for parts towards another rig, or possibly repurpose it for something else. For instance, if you want to get into recording, you could use it as a recording rig.

You can get a decent Crate 4x12 half stack used for ~$100 used if you look around, sometimes you can get them cheaper than that. I bought both of my older Crates for $120 a piece (although they have celestions so it was worth it).

might be worth more to people who don't know they can build something better for $500
probably not what you want to hear but those are my 2 cents
yeah i figured it would have been more since this rig could max out all the games I played at a res of 1920x1080. For my needs its quit a powerhouse

im looking to get the cabinet and the head but i was gonna go all tube in my amp. Im not really a fan of the sound crates produce, but then i would have to shop around and test them out.

They all sound different, and it all depends on the preamp thats driving them. Another key factor is the type of music you play. Crates are best suited for rock and metal, and they are more of a budget brand yet the cabs I have are older and are of better quality then the newer ones I would assume.

Tube amps sound good, but are a pain, they are expensive to maintain and are much more fragile than solid state amps. I have three setups, a solid state peavey head, a crate blue voodoo, (all tube) and a solid state power amp with a tube pre. the last is my favorite. Im getting a bit off topic, if you make a thread looking for suggestions on what gear to get, send me a pm.

As far as your PC goes, I would try the Craigslist route first, try for $700 with the monitor, if you dont get any bites after a couple weeks, try lowering the price, or posting on here.

i say forget about your "music career" because youre never going to get anything more out of it than crushed dreams and a meth addiction. sorry but to get anywhere in the music industry, you have to have talent.
