Cata has turned the world upside down, now if you were gonna come try WoW, then the time to do it was a couple weeks ago, just before the shattering happened. But the low level experience is much improved, lots of people have made low level alts for the new zones and so on.
And for the man with SLi 480s, I beat your frame rates, with my single 460, and it's a CPU limited engine, wind that cpu up a bit and your frame rates will improve.

Go get a trial from www.blizzard.com and try it free for 10 days, if you like it, you can upgrade to a full account and start helping to fund Titan tongue.gif

Guild Wars has much better PVP IMO. I couldn't stand WoW. It's all about grinding until you hit the level cap and the quests cant get any more repetitive. I can just picture a group of guys playing WoW together and looking like zombies after playing for 8 hours straight doing the same quests over and over again trying to level up.

Personally I can't stand the game and some of my friends always trying to get me to play it with them. The graphics were bad I thought when the game came out and don't like any better really and the game is just way to easy I feel.

If you like it though and have people to play it with it is probably not all that bad.

This is a rather uneducated response, especially now with Cata WoW is a lot less grindy than most MMO's out there, and usually a group of guys don't level together for 8 hours straight, or anything of that sort, the game is centered around what you do when you hit max level, and I would say you can't really judge it so much unless you've been there and tried raiding with an actual guild. I used to hate leveling 1-70 but it's not all that bad now with all the revamped quests.

Troll? Less grindy? If anything its even more grindy, they raised the level cap. I actually worked with a guy that would roll new toons pretty often and would just play for hours on end grinding out quests to level up. I have experience with high level raiding in Guild Wars and I have an idea of what its like in WoW. Another thing that turns me off from WoW is that a lot of guilds wont let you raid with them and it's going to be harder to find raid groups if you dont grind for hours trying to get high level gear.

I started playing again a few days ago after over a year out of it, I play mainly for the PVP and its good fun.

The key is just keep it in perspective, the game is designed to allow people to log in for a couple of hours every few days and still have 90% of the gear the hardcore addicted have. Do the daily BG/instances and you can keep up without a massive time investment.

For the guys saying things about grinding... That's MMO's for you. If you don't like grinding, at all, you shouldn't even play any MMO, let alone WoW. I've played a handful of MMO's, both old and new, and can honestly say that grinding in WoW isn't so bad as people make it seem. At least WoW dresses it up nice and puts a few flowers in its hair.

And I might get back into WoW, if I'm living on my own. Most raiding guilds raid from 8-11 here (rounded up), and I kinda always spend that time watching TV with my family. Might use WoW to fill that time when I move out, but I would keep myself from playing during the day when I should do other stuff.

Everyone complaining about grinding and how 'supposedly' bad it is in WoW has NEVER played Final Fantasy XI, go play that and talk to me about grind. You barely get exp for quests and the only way to level up is to literally grind out levels fighting the same mobs for hours on end. I love that game and played for 5 years, if you think WoW is grindy, you are either new to MMOs or very very misinformed. You can hit level cap in a matter of days, where as it took me a year and a half to hit cap in FFXI and that was playing 12+ hours a day (I don't do that anymore lol).

WoW has a grind-ish feel to it, but much much less so since Cata's launch. There are only so many types of quests put into an MMO and when you have many many levels to go through, yes, it feels grindy. But considering I rolled a worgen and, playing casually, get myself to level 30 (solo btw) in less than 16 hours total play time, it's far less of a chore. The way they have revamped the questing makes for a much more streamlined feel to the zones. Instead of coming in and running all over finding quest givers, you start in one area, and as you progress through the story, you slowly work across/through the zone until completion and it directs you to the next zone.
